Description
4th drawing of my crazy Disney Project ( [link] )
a happy Dumbo, Timothy and the feather!! that's what I wanted to show this movie is so beautiful, but with many sad parts... and I wanted to draw something happy ... I think it fits
Material:
- Graphite pencil
- Black markers
- Water-soluble color pencils
- Pentel Aquash Water Brush
What I learned / will remember:
- I used some tips given by 2 good friends here (thank you, really, Book-Collector [link] and Chashirskiy [link] ) for the shading/lighting... I think it's getting a bit better with each drawing...
- Timothy is so small that I had big difficulties with inking and coloring... I really shouldn't do anything that tiny anymore... or at least not smaller than that...
- I was tired of drawing characters in the big white nothingness... so this is my 1st attempt at a background... very simple, but it has taught me a few things:
1. a simple background is better than no background at all
2. though I think my background is okay, I need A LOT MORE practice with watercoloring, with the brush, ... it's not that easy... thank you Leochi [link] for your advice on the tertiary colors, it makes a big difference!!
3. how on earth can I prevent the paper from waving like that when it's wet?
