Here is my entry for the contest at the 
: Parody Posters! (Contest 38 - Parody Posters)
The idea is to take one of our favorite movie posters and replace the characters with Disney ones
So I chose the movie Forbidden Planet, which I discovered only last summer, after having heard about it in BBT and from ST fans... and it's truly, really, absolutely awesome!! If you haven't seen it and like sci-fi, you really should give it a chance... here is a wikipedia link about the movie: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidde…
In one of the original posters www.britannica.com/EBchecked/m…, Robby the robot is carrying Altaira in his arms...and so I thought... I ought to have a Disney robot playing the role of Robby... and my mind landed on B.E.N., one of the funniest and most cuddly robot in the world
... so then, B.E.N. would be carrying someone in his arms... and then came the question: who? ... ... ... ... Altaira being a girl, I thought about Jim's mom or Captain Amelia... but then, on the poster (even if it's not at all the case in the movie), Altaira looks a bit like a damsel-in-distress ... so it couldn't fit with either Jim's mom or Amelia, who are both really brave and tough women... then I began laughing... the "damsel-in-distress" type in Treasure Planet would definitely fit Delbert Doppler
Besides, I realized later, Delbert is a little like Altaira: a bit awkward and naive around other people so I had the main elements of my poster... I still had to choose my cast --->
On the left side of the poster, I've kept the "starring:" part, replacing the name of the actors by characters from Treasure Planet:
For the role of Dr Morbius (played by Walter Pidgeon), the dad with a tortured mind, I thought Long-John Silver would be great
Then there is Altaira, played by Anne Francis,... this is our Delbert
and finally, the role of Commander John Adams (played in the movie by a very young Leslie Nielsen) went logically to Captain Amelia, since John Adams is Altaira's love interest... and well, he's really brave and daring, too ...
As for the background, I tried to stay as close to the original poster as possible... with my own ideas of constellations, stars and nebulae
so voilà!!!! If you were brave enough to read all this, then I must thank you and give you a big hug

the titles sure sound similar.
And I like that Delbert's the damsel in distress. Definitely better than your first ideas, for the reasons you say.
Sounds like the cast fits well. ^_^
of course I've read it. ...besides... my descriptions were longer, so I'd be hypocritical otherwise (of course, most people didn't read my descriptions, though). But it's fun to read the descriptions for these, because it's neat to see the stories behind them.
And I like that Delbert's the damsel in distress. Definitely better than your first ideas, for the reasons you say.
